Over 23 Lakhs of Water Litres Distributed among Drought-hit People


Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) continuing its community help projects during the past one week (Sept 27 - Oct 1) provided a total of 2,388,000 litres of water to more than 90,598 families in drought-affected areas on the directions of Major General Mano Perera, Commander, SFHQ-C.

Using more than 161 water bowsers of the Army and other agencies including those of the District and Divisional Secretariats, those troops of the 111, 112 and 121 Brigades under 11 and 12 Divisions of the SFHQ-C distributed water in 64 villages in Minipe area, 7 villages in Ridimaliadda and Meegahakiula Divisional Secretariats and 230 villages in Siyambalaanduwa, Thanamalmalwila, Wellawaya, Buttala, Moneragala, Medagama, Bibila, Madulla and Badalkumbura Divisional Secretariat areas during the aforesaid period.

SFHQ-C has been instrumental in providing water to drought-hit people of the areas under the purview of the SFHQ-C for more than two months, following directions given by the SFHQ-C Commander.
