Outgoing SLNG Colonel of the Regiment Takes Leave of SLNG Headquarters

A Guard Turn Out and a Guard of Honour saluted the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), Major General Rasika Fernando who is also the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army in accordance with military traditions during a formal farewell, held at the Regimental Centre premises in Wehera, Kurunegala on Saturday (26).

Troops of the SLNG presented a salute in the Guard of Honour at the parade ground in the presence of a large gathering of Officers and Other Ranks.

Addressing the troops, Major General Rasika Fernando thanked All Ranks for their generous assistance and support, extended to him during his tenure.

The same evening hosted a sumptuous dining out in honour of the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment and Mrs Maya Fernando, the outgoing SLNG-Seva Vanitha Unit Chairperson. He took the opportunity to convey his gratitude to the Council members, all Staff Officers and for all the Commanding Officers who offered their maximum support during his tenure.

Major General Rasika Fernando, the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment bade adieu to the Regiment on 27th September 2020 amidst gracious greetings of all Guardians, leaving memories in the hearts of Guardian Family.
