His Excellency Major General (R) Umar Farooq Burki, HI (M), the outgoing High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Sri Lanka on Thursday (28 Dec) extended his courtesies to the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu at the Army Headquarters before the High Commissioner’s return to Pakistan after completion of his tenure in Sri Lanka.
During the brief meeting, both of them exchanged views on matters of general interest in the region and ever-growing bilateral relations between both countries at different levels.
The Pakistan High Commissioner also expressed his gratitude to the Sri Lanka Army for all the cooperation he received during his tenure and wished the Sri Lanka Army all the best in its future endeavours.
Towards the end of the interactions, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army, appreciative of his relations and goodwill, presented a memento to the Pakistan High Commissioner.
Colonel Muhammad Farooq, the Defence Advisor at the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka was also associated with the cordial meeting.
