On the eve of Mr. V. Mahalingam’s completion of the tenure in Jaffna as the Consul General for High Commission of India, a brief ceremony at Palaly, Jaffna on Wednesday (19) evening said goodbye to him, appreciating his service to the people of Jaffna.
Governor for Northern Province Major General (Retd) G.A Chandrasiri, District Secretary for Jaffna Mr. S. Arumainayagam, Mayoress for Jaffna, Mrs. Y. Pathgunarasa, Vice Chancellor University of Jaffna, Mrs. V. Arsaratnam, Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) and Mrs Udaya Perera, were associated with the event.
Major General Udaya Perera towards the end of the brief ceremony, presented a memento to the outgoing diplomat as a symbol of goodwill and gratitude.
