The outgoing Commander of Security Forces Headquarters – East, Major General M.K.U.P Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, was saluted in accordance with the military traditions during a formal farewell visit to the 24 Infantry Division Headquarters premises on 06 April 2024.
Upon his arrival, the Commander Security Forces - East was accorded a Drive pass at the entrance. Afterwards, he posed for a group photograph with the staff of the Division.
Major General M.K.U.P Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG during his troop address,acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the troops during his tenure. Following the all ranks tea, an exchange of mementos was took place. Thereafter, the Commander addressed the troops at the Deegavapiya project and laid a brick on the construction area of the stupa. A farewell dinner at the Officers’ Mess concluded the day’s events.
The General Officer Commanding of 24 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present at the occasion.
