Outgoing Colonel of the Regiment, Special Forces Honoured at SF Regimental HQ

Special Forces (SF) troops arranged a formal ceremony to bid farewell to the outgoing, former Deputy Chief of Staff, Colonel of the Regiment, Special Forces and Overlooking Commandant of the National Defence College, Major General D.G.S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu on Thursday (June 01) at the SF Regimental Centre, Naula.

In accordance with military traditions, a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour saluted him before he delivered the official handing-over documents at the office premises.

Prior to his departure, the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment paid his salute to the memory of fallen war heroes at the Special Forces' monument and during a subsequent address, he paid his gratitude to all ranks serving in respective SF establishments for their committed service, being rendered to maintain the standards and exclusive sub culture of the SF organization.

Adding memories to the day, the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment was invited to pose for a group photograph and plant a sapling in the premises. Summing up the series of events, all Council Members, Senior Officers and Officers hosted a farewell dinner in honour of the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment at the 1 SF Officers’ Mess as dusk fell.
