Major General K.M.S Kumara, Colonel Commandant, Corps of Engineer Services (CES) and Director General, Directorate of Engineer Services prior to his retirement visited 12 (V) CES at Kaburupitiya on 10 August.
Major K.W.G.U.M Gunathilaka Lsc Commanding Officer of 12 (V) CES warmly welcomed Major General K.M.S Kumara to the camp premises and in accordance with the military traditions, troops of 12 (v) CES presented a Guard Turn Out and greeted him.
Afterwards, the Commanding Officer, of 12 (v) CES invited their visiting Colonel Commandant to open the newly-constructed two storied office complex and have a close visit of office complex.
During his visit he addressed the troops and planted a sapling inside the camp premises as a symbol of memory.
Few CES Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
