The 11 Division Headquarters in Kundasale saluted its outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General Kithsiri Liyanage during formalities on Tuesday (14) when he arrived there to relinquish his duties and take reins shortly as the new Commander, Security Forces - West.
On his arrival, 10 Gajaba Regiment troops saluted the outgoing GOC in a Guard Turnout honour at the entrance before he entered his office. After formalities, related to his relinquishment, Major General Kithsiri Liyanage was invited to address the troops he served for more than 8 months.
He thanked all ranks for the support they extended during their tenure and urged them to cooperate with the incoming GOC in the same manner while safeguarding the reputation of the organization. Group photographs and refreshments brought the simple ceremony to end.
Major General Kithsiri Liyanage is also the Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.
Senior Officers at the 11 Division HQ, Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers were there to extend best wishes to the outgoing GOC.
