Two awareness programmes on organic fertilizer production were held for troops in the general area under command to the 59 Division and the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu on 20 July 2021 in line with the ‘Thuru Mithuru - Nawa Ratak’ conceptual project of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva.
The workshop on awareness was supported by 12 Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops and it was held at the Keppapilaw school premises.
Meanwhile, troops of 24 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment conducted a similar project at Alampil South Govijana Seva Centre.
These programmes were conducted by the GOC of the 59 Division and respective commanding Officers under the supervision of Major General Sisira Pilapitiya, Commander, Security Forces Mullaittivu.
