Troops of the 542 Brigade of the 54 Division in Mannar on information provided by Military Intelligence Corps (MIC) apprehended one suspect, together with 4 kgs of Kerala Cannabis during a search in the general area of Alawakka in Mannar on Friday (30).
The suspect was transporting Cannabis from Nanaddan towards Murunkan in a three-wheeler when the troops signalled it to stop for a search. The value of the stock thus detected exceeds Rs 1.2 million at market price. The stock with the suspect was handed over to Murukkan Police station for further investigations.
