One More CPR Workshop Educates Nurses & Para Medics at Army Hospital

Department of Anaesthesiology and Pain Management at the Colombo Army Hospital, recently staged a workshop on ‘Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for nurses and paramedics.

The workshop is one segment of the hospital’s monthly programme, meant to keep the medical staff informed of updates under the ongoing Continuous Medical Education (CME) project, launched by Colonel Chrisantha Fernando, Director, Army Hospital on the directions of Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Director General, Army Health Services with the blessings of the Commander of the Army.

This was the 23rd workshop, organized under this ongoing project.

Colonel Dhawala Perera, Head of Anaesthesia Department and Lieutenant Colonel Champika Abeysinghe, Consultant Anaesthetist conducted this workshop in line with the world-wide accepted European Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Major Yasar Pathirana, Captain Thilina Maduranga and Dr K. U Madushanka as the trainers explained how such conditions are identified, prevented and treated during the workshop.
