The Special Reserve Platoon Course - No: 05 conducted at Battalion Training School, Pampaimadu on the directions of the Commander, Security Forces - Wanni, Major General C.D Ranasinghe RWP RSP drew to a close on Tuesday (13 June) during a simple ceremony.
The course was attended by 9 Officers and 248 Other Ranks of 10 platoons, drawn from 21, 54, 56, 62, and 65 Infantry Divisions of Security Force HQ - Wanni.
The curriculum of the course covered lectures and practical sessions on handling of the GPS, unarmed combat (UC), VIP/VVIP protection, the marksmanship package (handling of weapons with live firing), search and rescue operations, rules of engagement (ROE), special operation procedures, and internal security (IS) duties, etc.
The closing remarks of the course were made by the Brigadier General Staff, Security Force Headquarters - Wanni, Brigadier S.P.G Gamage RWP RSP USP. The Commander, 562 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier J.M.A Jayasekara RSP USP, Colonel General Staff of 56 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers of respective battalions were associated with the certificate awarding ceremony. During the certificate-awarding ceremony, the following student Officers and Other Ranks were awarded trophies.
