One More Batch of SIO Qualified Soldiers Passed Out at Maduru Oya

The Army Training School (ATS) at Maduru Oya completed one more course on Special Infantry Operations (SIO) and awarded certificates, trophies and shields during a colourful passing-out ceremony on Thursday (17).

A total of 15 Officers and 252 Other Ranks, completed the Course No 62nd passed out during this ceremony after receipt of their merit awards in the Passing out Parade (PoP), attended by Brigadier Jayantha Seneviratne, Commandant, ATS as the Chief Guest.

A Guard Turn Out saluted the Chief Guest on arrival at the entrance to the school premises in conformity with military traditions after he was welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel K.H.N.P Hennadige, Commanding Officer, ATS.

The Chief Guest was afterwards invited to give away trophies, shields and merit awards to the graduates. A brief address to the occasion extended the Chief Guest’s best wishes to the course attendees.

Chief Instructor, instructors and the Commandant at the ATS jointly organized this SIO course in an effective and productive manner.

Captain D.N Kuruvitage of the 18th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) was adjudged the Best All-Rounder in the Course.
