One More Army-Built New Home Vested in Jayapuram Family

2 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops serving under the 663 Infantry Brigade of the 66 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) offered their technical assistance and engineering skills for construction of a new house for a needy family in Jayapuram area with financial assistance, provided by ‘Thalagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation’ of Ven Thalagala Sri Sumanaratana Nayake Thero.

2 SLNG serving the area under the 663 Infantry Brigade identified the miserable plight of this poor family and recommended the need for a shelter through the 66 Division which has been instrumental in providing such humanitarian assistance.

Accordingly, the new house, built at a cost of Rs 457,500/= through the ‘Thalagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation’ was symbolically handed over to the needy family in a ceremony on Saturday (16).

Brigadier Mangala Wijesundara, General Officer Commanding, 66 Infantry Division, together with 663 Infantry Brigade Commander, 2 SLNG Commanding Officer and Army personnel handed over the keys of the house to the beneficiary, Mrs Sadhishkaran Saraswathi, a mother of a few children. At the same occasion, a gift parcel containing house appliances was also given to the recipient.
