A one-day workshop was conducted at the Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) Base Workshop in Katubedda for 59 students from Saint Aloysius’ College, Galle, on 18 July 2024. The workshop was organized at the request of the college principal and was guided by Major General S.P.A.I.M.B Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc the Deputy Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME).
During the session, the students were educated on various aspects of engine mechanics, including engine functions, electrical systems, cooling and lubricating systems, and different types of lubricants used in the automobile industry.
The effectiveness of the training was highlighted during the debrief, where the students showcased a strong grasp of the subjects discussed. At the conclusion of the workshop, the students expressed their appreciation to the staff of the Workshop.
Major General S.A.N.J Ariyasena, Director General of SLEME, and Colonel D.A Sirimannage, the Centre Commandant of the Regiment Centre, Colonel J.M.R Jayasinghe psc Lsc the Commandant Base Workshop - Katubedda, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Rankers participated in the event.
