Oman's Military Officers Call at Army Headquarters


A delegation of military officers from the Command and Staff College of the Sultanate of Oman, currently in Sri Lanka, arrived at the Army Headquarters Monday (31) morning on a familiarization tour.

Major General Chrisantha De Silva, Chief of Staff, on behalf of the Commander of the Army, received the 38-member delegation and discussed matters of importance to the delegates, most of who are still student officers in Oman.

The delegation led by Colonel Sulaiman Sabil Ali Al Balushi of the Oman Army was interested in learning more about the conduct of past humanitarian operations, immediate aftermath roles of the Army and the post-conflict development projects during their stay at the Army Headquarters. Major General L.B.R Mark, Master General Ordnance conducted the presentation.

Those delegates received a comprehensive briefing from on all the Army training establishments and different new initiatives, being undertaken for promotion of the Army as a force to be reckoned with in the region.

Towards the end of the interaction, an exchange of mementoes occurred.

Major General Amal Karunasekara, Military Secretary and several other senior officers were associated with the event.
