Officers at SFHQ-MLT Learn about IHL

A two-day workshop on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) in response to a request, made by the Commander of the Army to the International Red Cross got underway at the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) during 28-29 July.

Major General Jagath Rathnayake, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu was instrumental in collecting Officers of the 59, 64, 68 Divisions under command to the SFHQ-MLT for the two-day sessions.

The lectures on Rule of Engagement (ROE) and Humanitarian Law for Internal Security Duties were conducted by the Regional Armed & Security Delegate of International Red Cross Society to Sri Lanka, Mr Jacques Lemay and Mr L.C Channa Jayawardena of the International Red Cross at the invitation of the SFHQ-MLT.

Before their departure, both delegates held cordial talks with the Mullaittivu SF Commander and exchanged mementos.
