Coincident with the 30th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Military Academy’s (SLMA) Short Course No - 7 and No - 8 (Intakes SC 7 & 8 Cadet Course), retired and serving Officers of both Courses, reminiscent of their fallen comrades, made a cash donation of Rs. 100,000/= towards maintenance of the War Heroes’ monument at SLMA premises on Saturday (25 Nov).
A representative group of Officers of both those Courses having collected the cash gift among themselves handed over the cheque to that value to Major General M.T.I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, Commandant, SLMA after recalling memories of their fallen course-mates.
19 Officers of Short Courses 7 and 8 of the SLMA sacrificed their precious lives during humanitarian operations in defence of the country.
