Forty six Officer Cadets currently following the Officer Cadets' Course No-88 at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) in Diyatalawa were taken on a tour to the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu and Mullaittivu area on Thursday (3) as part of their study module.
During the arrival, student officers were received by the Brigadier General Staff (BGS), Brigadier Sugath Rathnayake on behalf of Major General Jagath Rathnayake, Commander, Security Forces - MLT. After that, Major L.L.C.S Cabral (G2 Ops) conducted a special presentation on past humanitarian operations, disaster management roles and current projects, being carried out by Sri Lanka Army troops in Mullaittivu area.
Towards the end of the interaction, Officer Cadets awarded a special memento to Major General Jagath Rathnayake as a symbol of appreciation. The session culminated with refreshments at the Officers' Mess. Brigadier Sugath Rathnayake BGS, Brigadier Nihal Samarawickrama, Brigadier Coordinating (Vol-Matters) and staff Officers of the SFHQ-MLT were also associated with the sessions.
Next, they visited the 68 Division area to be received by Brigadier Upali Rajapaksha, General Officer Commanding 68 Division. During their stay in Mullaittivu, those student Officers visited places where last battles were fought and other places of interest. Towards the end of the visit, officer Cadets awarded a special appreciative memento to Brigadier Upali Rajapaksha, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division for coordination.
