Officer Cadets of the Intake 83, presently undergoing basic military training at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) visited the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Thursday (19) as part of their SLMA curriculum.
The Officer Cadets were welcomed by Colonel S.W.M Fernando, Colonel General Staff (SFHQ-KLN) on arrival at the premises. They viewed a presentation on ‘Role and Responsibilities of the SFHQ-KLN and Post Conflict Scenario, developments’ followed by a question and answer session.
During the field visit, those Officer Cadets visited the Harmony Centre and Colonel Kolambathantri, Commander, 571 Brigade briefed the visitors on the mission of the Harmony Center and its activities. Exchange of mementoes also took place at the same time.
3 Course Officers, 13 Other Ranks, Instructors and 31 Officer Cadets joined this visit.
Meanwhile, Officer Cadets of the Intake 83 visited Security Force Headquarters- Mullaittivu (SFHQ - MLT) on Wednesday (18) before they proceeded to Kilinochchi.
The delegation was welcomed at the SFHQ - MLT by Colonel H.G.P.M Kariyawasam, Colonel General Staff, SFHQ - MLT on behalf of the Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu.
They participated in a discussion on past and present operational activities, including community support activities before visiting a few Brigades and Units deployed in the Mullaittivu area.
