Nutritious biscuit stocks to the value of about Rs 12 lakhs, donated by Delmage Marketing (Pvt) Ltd following coordination done by 551 Brigade Commander in Vettalakerni, Jaffna were distributed on Wednesday (5) among infants of low-income group families in consultation with medical authorities in the area.
The stock of ‘Mum’s Choice’ baby rusk biscuits, rich with nutrients were given away to those kids during a brief ceremony at Marudankerni Government’s Hospital on the recommendations of medical officers and authorities in the hospital. More than 380 kids received ten such biscuit packets each during the event, following arrangements, coordinated by the 551 Brigade.
55 Division Headquarters during the past few months has carried out a number of mobile medical clinics in the 55 Division area before this programme was launched.
Chief Medical Officer Dr E Kanagaratnam, Medical Officer Dr T Umapathi Shivam and members of the medical staff at Marudankerni Government’s Hospital assisted the programme supported by 551 civil affairs coordination office.
