233 Brigade troops of the 23 Division under the Security Force Headquarters – East (SFHQ-E) with the financial sponsorship of the ‘Buddhist Ariya Foundation’ at Maharagama, distributed essential accessories and nutrients to fifty (50) pregnant women in Welikanda area on Sunday (17) at Monarathenna Temple premises in Welikanda.
Those gift packs consisted of nutritious food verities, mosquito nets and other essentials each to the value of Rs.5000.00/=.
Ven Dr. Meththalankara Thero, incumbent Bhikku at Monarathenna temple, Welikanda invoked blessings on expectant mothers by chanting Seth Pirith.
Mr. Shammi Manoj, Chairperson, ‘Buddhist Ariya Foundation’, Maharagama, together with members of the organization and the Civil Affairs Officer, 23 Division joined the distribution of gift packs among ladies.
