Now, Kalutara District Records the Majority-NOCPCO

As of this morning (29), a total of 2,850 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 5 Sri Lankan expatriates and 2,845 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 512 from Kalutara District, 443 from Gampaha District, 281 from Colombo District and 1609 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (29), a total of 177,710 persons, have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them 80,610 were reported after the New Year. 146,361 of them after recovery have left hospitals. The affected 27,412 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

By Saturday (29) morning (past 24 hours), 2,573 recovered patients have left care centers. 3 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains at 1,363 by this morning (29).

By Saturday (29) morning, 500 persons have left 18 QCs. As of this morning (29), 5,169 persons in 61 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By this morning (29) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged and movement restrictions that have been enforced would continue.
