65 Division and its under command formations celebrated Sinhla & Tamil New Year festival in order to enhance mutual understanding and sound relationship between the soldiers and the civilians in 65 Division area on Saturday (21) at Mulangavil Vinayagar public grounds with a large gathering of civilians.
Arrangement included both Sinhala and Tamil traditional games and many more fun-making events and a musical show in the evening to entertain civilians in the area as well as the soldiers in all formations.
Major General Niyshshanka Ranawana, Commander, Security Forces - KLN graced the occasion as the chief guest at the invitation of Major General Kumara Peiris, GOC 65 Division. This event was organized by the 651 Brigade with the full support of the 652 and the 653 Brigades.
A large number of members of the public and other Senior Officers were present at the occasion.
