A high level delegation of German and Norwegian diplomats during a visit to the Jaffna peninsula on Wednesday (10) morning met Security Forces authorities in an attempt to receive an update of the current security situation in the peninsula.
Norway\'s special envoy Mr. Erik Solheim, accompanied by a delegation of Norwegian diplomats including Norwegian ambassador for Sri Lanka Mr. Hans Brattskar and the Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany Mr J. Elias and his delegation during their visit to Jaffna on Tuesday (09) met Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna Major General M. D. S Chandrapala at his office.
Mr S. Saether, Mrs Lisa Golden, Mrs Elias, Mr & Mrs Roland and Mr Adwalker were also associated with the occasions.
Major Gen. Chandrapala during these meets briefed the visitors on the status quo of the current security measures in force and the Army's role for the welfare of the civil population in the peninsula.
