Northern Province Sports Tournament, organized for the 6th time got underway at Kilinochchi Madya Maha Vidyalaya grounds during two days (Sept 15 -16).
Athletic events covering Kilinochchi, Jaffna, Mannar, Vavuniya and Mullattivu Districts were competed by many sportsmen and women, belonging to various sport leagues and teams in those Districts.
Sponsored by Northern Province Sports Department, Education, Culture and Sports Ministries and SINGER, Kilinochchi, the tournament was witnessed by Mr Murugeshan Chandrakumar (MP), Kilinochchi District Secretary, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) and several other guests.
SFHQ-KLN and 57 Division troops offered their support and assistance for the successful conduct of the tournament by way of doing decorations and other arrangements.
