Northern Province Governor Exchanges Views with the Army Chief

The Hon Governor for Northern Province, Mr Jeevan Thiyagarajah this morning (5) called on Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters and exchanged courtesies and views on matters of concern to the Northern province as well as the Army's contribution to the development of the peninsula.

During the brief meet, both agreed to further enhance civil-military cooperation roles in the peninsula and work towards the betterment of civil life in the wake of current economic hardships.

Towards the end of the cordial meeting, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage symbolized the goodwill of the Sri Lanka Army by awarding a memento to the Northern Province Governor. The gesture was reciprocated.

Major General Sujeewa Senerath Yapa, Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe, Adjutant General were also associated with the day’s meeting.
