Non-Commissioned Officers’ Training School (NCOTS), at Saliyawewa on Dec 26 organized an alms-giving to invoke blessings on the Army including the Commander of the Army and the people of the country in the forthcoming New Year.
The event transferred merits to Fallen War Heroes and all those who perished in the Tsunami disaster.
Vev. Rukmale Dhammakiththi Thero, Deputy Sanghanayake of Colombo Nawakorale and Nawa Thotamune performed religious observances.
Mr Shantha Karunasekara, the former Commissioner of Sri Lanka Customs and Mr S.K.A.S. Senanayake, Commissioner of Sri Lanka Customs and members of the “Mithupiyagama Society” assisted the alms-giving arrangements.
A total of 25 monks took part in the alms-giving ceremony.
