General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army currently in the East took time off to visit the Ottamwadi burial ground for dead COVID-19 victims this morning (13) and had a chat with COVID-19 health workers, engaged in burial work there.
In his capacity as Head, National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), General Shavendra Silva closely reviewed the procedures, connected to burial roles and other precautionary measures that have been kept in place for health workers and Army personnel, engaged in such work. A few civilians who showed up there too shared a couple of views with the visiting General Shavendra Silva.
