NOCPCO Evaluates Its Own Roles

A 3-hour long lecture plus a subsequent discussion session on the role of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID - 19 Outbreak’ (NOCPCO), themed on ‘Mechanism of the NOCPCO’ got underway on Monday (29), coordinated by Brigadier Coordinator at NOCPCO, Brigadier Chandana Arangalla.

On the directions of General Shavendra Silva, Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, the programme was launched under the supervision of Major General Sujeewa Senarathyapa, Commander Security Forces - West.

The session was conducted by Brigadier coordinator Brigadier Chandana Arangalla and Professor in Medical Education Faculty of Medicine University of Colombo, Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake covered some salient aspects, including the strategic level of vaccination monitoring system and the QC/ICC Monitoring system, coordination of preventive and management measures to ensure that healthcare and other services are well geared to serve the general public, Presidential Task Force that functions in order to direct, coordinate and monitor the delivery of continuous services and its sustenance, etc.

The Commander, Security Forces - West, General Officer Commanding, 14 Division Major General Krishantha Gnanarathne, senior officers, officers and several Regimental Sergeant Majors of the Security Force HQ - West participated at the lecture and discussion session.
