As of this morning (08), not a single individual was confirmed positive to COVID-19 epidemic, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 am this morning (08), the total number of detainees at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts stands at 640. Of them, 519 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison.
The flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 20 passengers arrived in Colombo this morning and all of them are expected to be referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.
Within the day (08), 331 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 02 persons are from Army Service Corps QC, 23 persons from Army General Service Corps QC, 69 persons from Habarana Oakray Hotel QC, 119 persons from Damminna QC, 12 persons from Hotel Club Dolphin QC, 50 persons from Win Beach resort, 49 persons from Nachchikuda QC and 07 persons from Oluvil QC.
Likewise, 38, 393 individuals by this morning (08) have been sent back home after quarantining. 6,624 persons in 63 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (08), 1625 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 241,631.
Meanwhile, 01 positive COVID-19 infected case after full recovery left hospital early this morning (08). He was an expatriate underwent quarantining and found positive afterwards. Accordingly, 626 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery.
