JAFFNA, VAVUNIYA & MANNAR: TWO LTTE TERRORISTS while attempting to fire at the troops in the general areas of PONNAR and MUHAMALE, JAFFNA were shot dead by the troops ahead of the Forward Defence Line (FDL) Thursday (13) around 5.30 p.m.
In another incident, troops countered a small arms attack launched by the terrorists taking cover behind a tractor Thursday (13) in the area north of PARAYANAKULAM, VAVUNIYA. Army counter fire killed eleven terrorists, according to monitored Tiger communication.
Similarly, troops confronted a group of terrorists on Thursday (13) around 12.40 p.m. in the general area of KANDAPERUMAKULAM, northwest of POOVARASANKULAM, VAVUNIYA, and killed four terrorists.
During another confrontation at PARAPPAKANDALA, MANNAR, troops killed two LTTE terrorists Thursday (13) around 9.30 a.m.. Troops also destroyed one LTTE bunker in the same attack.
