Newly-Promoted Major Generals Receive Symbols of Authority

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, formally conferred the rank of Major General upon the newly promoted Senior Officers during a ceremony held on 16 June 2025, with the participation of their family members.

The Senior Officers promoted to the rank of Major General included Major General K M V Kodituwakku, Major General H A M Premaratne ndc psc Lsc, Major General M W S Millagala RWP RSP USP Hdmc psc and Major General G C V Fernando ndc.

The Commander of the Army, together with the families of the newly-promoted Senior Officers, officially conferred their insignia and extended heartfelt congratulations on their career accomplishments. The ceremony concluded with expressions of gratitude from the Senior Officers and a group photograph, followed by the official awarding of insignia at the Commander’s Office.
