Newly-Promoted Major Generals Receive Symbols of Authority

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, formally invested newly promoted Major Generals of the Sri Lanka Army during a ceremony held on 20th May 2025, joined by their family members.

The Senior Officers promoted to the rank of Major General included, Major General W.M.N.K.D Bandara RWP RSP USP ndu psc, Major General A.M.A Abeyawardana WWV RWP RSP ndc, Major General A.M.C Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, Major General H.T.W Vidyananda RWP RSP USP, Major General G.P.P Kulatilaka ndc, Major General D.C Mahathanthila psc, Major General W.S.V Fernando USP ndc IG, Major General S.A Hettige RSP psc, Major General R.D Sallay ndc, Major General W.M.A.B Wijekoon USP ndc and Major General G.A.T Godewatte RWP RSP.

The Commander of the Army, together with the families of the newly promoted Officers, officially conferred their insignia and extended heartfelt congratulations on their career accomplishments. The ceremony concluded with expressions of gratitude from the Senior Officers and a group photograph, followed by the official awarding of insignia at the Commander’s Office.
