Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, formally conferred the rank of Major General upon the newly promoted Senior Officers during a ceremony held on 14 August 2025 at the Army Headquarters.
The Senior Officers promoted to the rank of Major General included Major General H.M.G.E Herath RSP USP ndu psc, Major General W.B.M.K.G.K Weerasekara WWV RWP RSP USP AUSWC psc, Major General P.S.J.D Samarasekara RSP USP ndc psc, Major General M.R Razick RSP ndu, Major General T.T.P Siriwardene RSP ndc psc Isc, Major General T.C Harasgama RSP, Major General S.A.U.A Solangaarachchi RSP ndc psc and Major General A.P.C.R Prematilaka RSP USP ndc.
The ceremony concluded with the official awarding of insignia at the Commander’s Office, expressions of gratitude for the Senior Officers, and a group photograph to mark the occasion.
