Newly Promoted Major Generals Call on the Commander of the Army

Two recently promoted Major Generals of the Army, Major General D.B.L Colonne USP of Sri Lanka Engineers and Major General T.C Peiris RSP USP of Sri Lanka Engineers, called on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu. This courtesy visit took place on 20 May 2024, coinciding with the 15th National War Heroes’ Commemoration Day.

During this courtesy call on, the two Senior Officers received their symbols of authority and greetings from the Army Chief at the Commander's Office. After cordial interactions, the Commander of the Army presented each Senior Officer with a General's sword, symbolising their new authority.

Senior Officers expressed their gratitude to the Commander of the Army and the event concluded by adding memories to the occasion by posing for several photos.
