Commander Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), Major General Boniface Perera on Thursday (30) opened two new billets for soldiers and the new badminton court of the 62 Division Headquarters at the request of the General Officer Commanding, 62 Division.
Those billets, a long-felt need of the soldiers of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) and Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) serving the 62 Division Headquarters, were built by the troops of the 62 Division itself.
These billets were constructed under the directions of Brigadier K.G.D Perera, General Officer Commanding of the 62 Division
Subsequently, Commander SFHQ-W opened newly constructed Badminton Court of the 62 Division. During the commissioning ceremony, the Commander watched an exhibition badminton match, played by 62 Division troops under two teams.
General Officer Commanding, 62 Division, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and a large number of officers and other ranks took part in the inaugural ceremonies.
