Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, the recently-appointed Commander Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J) visited the 51 Infantry Division HQ at Kopay on Tuesday (13 June) after assumption of his duties as the new Commander, SF-J.
A Guard Turnout salute greeted him before he was warmly welcomed by Major General S.W.B Welagedara RSP VSV USP ndc, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 51 Infantry Division. After a while, he addressed the troops in the compound and placed his vision before the troops under his command
Adding memories to the day, he was invited to plant a sapling in the premises and pose for a few group photographs with the Divisional staff. Later, he received a brief on the role and tasks of the Division and its responsibilities from the GOC and Staff Officers. He interacted with the Officers during refreshments at the Officers’ Mess.
Before his departure, he inked some of his thoughts in the visitors' book. As the final segment of the day’s agenda, the Commander, SF-J visited several camps under the 51 Infantry Division in Kankesanthurai area.
Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers responsible for the area were associated with the visits.
