Newly Appointed GOC Visits 5th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry

Major General K.A.U. Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG, the newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 11Infantry Division, made an official visit to the 5th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry camp on 25 October 2024.

Upon arrival, the Senior Officer was accorded with a ceremonial guard turnout and he addressed the Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the unit, discussing key operational goals and morale-building themes. To mark his visit, GOC planted a sapling on the camp premises.

Following this, he posed for a group photograph and conducted an inspection of the camp facilities. Concluding the visit, the newly appointed GOC left complimentary remarks in the Visitors' book.

Brigadier J.M.W.K. Jayalath RWP RSP USP - Commander 111 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
