Newly Appointed Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Begins Duties

Major General S.A. Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, assumed duties as the 3rd Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (SLACAL) on 04 April 2024 during a brief ceremony, held at the Regimental Centre, SLACAL.

The newly appointed Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant and then honoured in a Guard Turnout.

After a short while, the newly appointed Colonel Commandant was invited to the parade ground to receive the salute in the Guard of Honour, accorded in his honour by SLACAL troops at the Regimental Headquarters.

Then, symbolizing his acceptance of the new office amidst religious observances, Major General S.A. Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, left his signature in an official document in the presence of a gathering of Senior Officers. Adding memories to the day, the Senior Officer was invited to pose for a few group photographs with the Regimental staff and was also invited to plant a mango sapling in the compound.

Further, setting out his scope of work and duties, Major General S.A. Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc addressed the Officers as a formality and emphasized the importance of working as a team to protect the image of the Regiment. This statement signifies his commitment to the development of the Regiment and his dedication to the responsibilities of his new appointment.

Towards the end of the day’s ceremony, the Colonel Commandant participated in lunch with All Ranks and took time off to share views with the attendees.
