Newest Hotel Resort, 'Laya Waves' Ready for Opening

Sri Lanka Army-owned Laya Hotel Chain is to open its latest beach resort, ‘Laya Waves’ in the panoramic sea setting at Pasikuda, Kalkuda in a couple of weeks, marking a new milestone in the sphere of Army hospitality industry.

The newest resort with eight rooms includes special suites, restaurants, bar facilities and all other leisure opportunities, ideal for guests, new couples and families, ideal for a quiet holiday.

Construction of the new hotel with blessings and directions of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, began a few months ago by Army Directorate of Welfare, following the success story of the ongoing ‘Laya’ chain; ‘Laya Beach’ (Wadduwa), ‘Laya Leisure’ (Kukuleganga) and ‘Laya Safari’ (Yala), which have now made a reputed name for themselves.

The culinary habits of the new ‘Laya Waves’ will add a veracity of flavours from every corner of the world and fresh sea food directly collected from local fishermen around the hotel.

The new resort, just a few minutes away from Kalkuda railway station, lies close to Kalkuda jetty, Vakarai and Kayankerni beaches, Kallady bridge, Batticaloa Fort, Trincomalee and Arugambay surf resort, in addition to its close reach to Polonnaruwa and other areas of tourist interest.
