New ‘Gun Yard’ Provides Protective Shelter to Artillery Guns

Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery and Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) was invited by Lieutenant Colonel D.P.L.T Kaluaggala, Commanding Officer, 9th Field Artillery Regiment in the Rear Headquarters in Talawa, Anuradhapura to inaugurate its newly-constructed ‘Gun Yard’ on 30 September where all Artillery Guns are provided protective shelter.

Many of those guns were the strength behind the Army’s victory during the humanitarian operations. On the same occasion, the day’s Chief Guest, Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya in a gesture of appreciation and gratitude warmed the newly-built and well-equipped Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess.

The Chief Guest commended the efforts made by those SLA troops at Talawa in regard to the protection of those guns which are also of historic value and shared a couple of views with all those who contributed to both constructions. Several senior SLA Officers and a gathering of Other Ranks attended the event.buy shoes | Best Nike Air Max Shoes 2021 , Air Max Releases and Deals
