New ‘Combat Cycle Course’ Attendees Hold Demonstration

A newly- introduced ‘Combat Cycle Course’ got underway at 622 Infantry Brigade HQ at Helambawewa during 11-25 August on an initiative taken by Brigadier Sarada Samarakoon, General Officer Commanding of 62 Infantry Division.

The objectives of the Course was to enhance the security mechanism within the Area of Responsibility (AOR) for effective domination plan with minimum available resources whilst maintaining Combat Efficiency, Combat Effectiveness, Comradeship and Team Spirit. Altogether, 35 students, selected from 11 Gemunu Watch, 9 Gajaba Regiment, 20 Gajaba Regiment, 14 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 17 Sri Lanka National Guard deployed in 62 Infantry Division’s area of responsibility attended this specially-designed training course curriculum.

A set of qualified instructors’ team from 2 Special Forces (SF) Regiment conducted the training programme under the supervision of the Commander, 623 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Prabhath Kodituwakku.

An eye-catching exhibition demonstration organized on the final day of the Course was attended by Major General Dhammika Jayasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni as the Chief Guest.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest commended the efforts made by the 62 Infantry Division Commander for taking an initiative to introduce this special course curriculum where all the troops in the area would be benefited in time to come with its continuation.
