New Zealand Based Philanthropist Donates Medical Accessories

Mr Channa Ranasinghe, President, United Sri Lanka Association in New Zealand who is also a college mate of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya recently donated a stock of medical equipment worth several lakhs to the Military Hospital at Narahenpita.    

Several Laryngoscopes, medical instruments used for surgeries, each worth about Rs 25,000/= and a few hundreds of disposable Laryngeal masks, widely used were among the stock that has been gifted by Mr Ranasinghe to the Military Hospital. 

On behalf of the Army’s Director of Medical Services Brigadier K.P Sumanapala, a senior officer at the Military Hospital received the gift from the donor. 

Sri Lanka Army as well as the Seva Vanitha Army Branch in the past, too acknowledged such gestures of goodwill from this philanthropist.
