Troops of the 65 Division, 57 Division and 11 Gajaba Regiment of the 651 Brigade, all under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) held their separate New Year festivals with the participation of a large number of civil and Army personnel at the 65 Divisional Headquarter premises, 57 Division at their own premises and 11 Gajaba Regiment troops at Mulankavil playground during April 11 - 14.
Different games of traditional and fun-making nature dominated those New Year festivals. Marathon races, bicycle races, bun-eating, tug-of-war, cadjan weaving and selection of the New Year Prince and the Princess were among the highlights of the day’s events.
General Officers Commanding (GOC), 65 Division and 57 Division attended as Chief Guests in their respective divisional New Year festivals.
11 Gajaba Regiment troops coordinated with Mulankavil Police Station and Trade Society of Mulankavil to make the New Year Festival -2015 a success.
