As of this morning (4), a total of 3,297 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were 3 foreigners, 30 Sri Lankan expatriates and the rest 3,264 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 648 from Gampaha District, 630 from Colombo District, 409 from Kalutara District and 1,577 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (4), a total of 195,843 persons, have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 98,534 were reported after the New Year.
By Tuesday (4) morning (past 24 hours), 1,683 recovered patients have left care centers. Three deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rises to 1,608 by this morning (4).
By Tuesday (4) morning, 259 persons have left 11 QCs. As of this morning (4), 4,553 persons in 56 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.
By this morning (4) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged and movement restrictions that have been enforced would continue.
