New Year Cluster, Now at 123,779 – NOCPCO

As of this morning (13), a total of 2,354 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were 2 foreigners and 12 Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest 2,340 were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 561 from Gampaha District, 528 from Colombo District, 313 from Kalutara District and 938 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (13), a total of 221,276 persons, have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 123,779 were reported after the New Year.

By Sunday (13) morning (past 24 hours), 2,426 recovered patients have left Intermediate Care Centers and Hospitals. No death has been reported in the past 24 hours. But 12 deaths have been reported from 23 May to 31 May and 51 deaths from 1 June to 11 June amounting to 63 deaths in the said periods.

By Sunday (13) morning, 494 persons have left 20 QCs. As of this morning (13), 6,416 persons in 64 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By this morning (13) at the time this communiqué was released, 8 isolated Police Divisions and 258 isolated GN Division areas were released from isolation and the isolation of Pannala Police Division in Kurunegala District with 93 isolated GN areas remain unchanged and movement restrictions that have been enforced would continue.
