New Year Cluster Crosses 100,000 - NOCPCO

As of this morning (5), a total of 3,410 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were 12 Sri Lankan expatriates and the rest 3398 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 602 from Colombo District, 538 from Kalutara District, 302 from Kurunegala District, and1956 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (5), a total of 199,253 persons, have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 101,932 were reported after the New Year.

By Tuesday (5) morning (past 24 hours), 1,884 recovered patients have left care centers and hospitals. No death has been reported in the past 24 hours.

By Tuesday (5) morning, 757 persons have left 19 QCs. As of this morning (5), 4,587 persons in 55 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By this morning (5) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged and movement restrictions that have been enforced would continue.
