New wings with ENT clinic opened at Anuradhapura Military Hospital

Two new wards at Victory Military Hospital in Anuradhapura that house an ENT clinic too was declared open recently by Major General P.S.B.Kulathunga, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters Wanni at a simple ceremony.

The new wings with 64 beds, built at a cost of about Rs. 700,000 were a long-felt medical requirement of the Army personnel who are serving the north and the east of the country. This newly opened Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) clinic facilitates accommodation of nearly fifty such patients. The concept for construction, an initiative taken by Commander of the Army, Lt General Shantha Kottegoda was made possible thanks to the allocations made by the President's Fund.

Each wing with a length of 100 ft and 46 ft in width was put up solely by Sri Lanka Army Engineers within a period of one year after the foundation stone was laid towards the end of the year 2003.

In response to an invitation extended by Major H. Amadoru, Commanding Officer at the Victory Military hospital, a large gathering of Senior Officers, Other Ranks, Director of Health Services for North Central Province, Medical Consultants and Medical authorities in the area were present at the inaugural ceremony.
