Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, the new Commander, Security Forces – West had a formal visit to the 61 Division located in Galle on Friday (9) after assuming of office.
The visiting Commander, SF-West was welcomed by Major General Dammi Hewage, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division, together with Brigade Commanders, Commanding Offices and a few Senior Officers.
He was invited to leave memories by planting a sapling in the camp before he inspected the camp compound.
Subsequently, he visited the ICC at Akmeemana Ruhunu National Education centre. Brigadier Upul Kodithuwakku, Commander 613 Brigade briefed the visiting West Commander on its status.
Afterwards, he visited the Quarantine Centre, located in Mapalana Agriculture Academy and the 3 (v) Gemunu Watch camp in the area.
